One of the things I love about crochet is how painless it is to make the yarn ends disappear as I go along. Unlike knitting, when I have to spend hours (it seems) weaving in the ends and hoping they don't make the fabric or seams too bulky in spots. Case in point: I'm still doing the finishing work on the knitted hoodie and top mentioned in the previous journal entry. But I completely finished a crocheted cardigan in the meantime…
This turned out so soft and warm and fuzzy! I almost wish I were keeping it for myself, but it's a Christmas gift. Sadly, the photo doesn't do it justice. The fabric isn't nearly so dull in person.
Details: Yarn is Overture by S.R. Kertzer, in Midnight, 17 balls. Pattern is the Filet Cardigan from Great Crocheted Sweaters in a Weekend by Nola Theiss & Chris Rankin. I believe the book is out of print. I found it in a used book store a couple of months ago and fell in love with all the nifty designs.
And, because I can't go two minutes without having something new on the needles, yesterday I cast on a 3/4 sleeve cotton tee. In-progress pics to follow eventually. In the meantime, I guess I better get back to weaving in ends and sewing up seams.
